Oh this has been a labor of love!
Through a formal nutrition education, 14 years of experience in the weight loss industry, and what feels like decades of personal experience dealing with weight loss, marathon training and a hectic travel schedule, I knew I had a message I wanted to share with folks seeking a healthy life everywhere. I do think I have the “secrets” and I am ready to share them!
I’ve seen it and been through it all.
Painful detoxes. Low calorie diets. Low carb diets. Eliminating too much food and exercising into an oblivion. Through all this I’ve learned that health and happiness are not really a destination — but more of a way of life.
Well that sounds simple, right?
Then why do so many people struggle with their weight, health and happiness? Because it’s not simple! Crappy food tastes good, it’s cheap and easy to find. Booze is a part of almost every celebration — making sleeping in the next morning a whole lot more appealing than running or hitting a spin or yoga class. Willpower only lasts so long before you give into an avalanche of cheese, pasta, ice cream or whatever your comfort vice might be.
The media and conflicting industry experts don’t help much either.
First we were supposed to cut calories, then fat, then carbs. One day soy was the miracle protein, then it was linked to cancer. At one point we all thought carbohydrates were the devil, then Dr. Atkins surprisingly dies. Vegans say animals are detrimental to your health and Paleos tell you they make you thrive. How are you supposed to know what’s right?
My message is a message of balance.
Trial and error will teach you what’s right for your body. Eating food in its closest natural form will protect your health. Satisfying your cravings in healthy moderation will always win over restriction. Learning to love fitness will keep you active forever, not just for the next “diet.”
So that’s what lead me to create Color Yourself Skinny.
It’s a 21-Day Diet Detox. Sounds sexy right? But we’re not talking detox in the traditional sense, this is a detox from dieting. A launching pad to health and happiness.
